How Should You Maintain an SDF Series Tunnel Axial Flow Fan for Long-Term Safe Operation?

Série SDF - Ventilateur à flux axial en tunnel requires correct operation and regular maintenance to ensure long-term safe and stable performance in tunnel ventilation. Operators must follow strict procedures to keep the fan running efficiently and to reduce safety risks.

Proper Startup for Different Ventilation Distances

For short-distance ventilation, only the first-stage fan needs to be started. For long-distance ventilation, all three stages can be used. When starting three stages, start the Stage 1 fan first. After it reaches normal running condition, start Stage 2, and then Stage 3. This sequence prevents overload and protects the electrical system.

Pre-Operation Inspection

Before running the fan, ensure no foreign objects remain inside the fan housing. All fasteners must be secure, and the impeller must rotate in the correct direction. Conduct a test run to confirm flexible rotation and absence of abnormal noise. During operation, operators should inspect the fan frequently and keep detailed records.

Safety Precautions for Air Inlet

Nothing should be placed or hung at the fan’s air inlet to prevent objects from being sucked in. If the protective cover on the collector is damaged, the fan must not be used. This rule prevents accidents and protects the impeller from severe damage.

Lubrication and Bearing Care

Grease must be replaced regularly. When the fan has operated for six months, the bearing should be cleaned, and fresh grease added. The correct filling amount is one-half to two-thirds of the bearing’s free volume. During use, the bearing temperature must not exceed 95°C, and the sound should remain normal. Replace bearings immediately if severe wear is detected.

Maintaining the Anechoic Holes

After a period of operation, dust may accumulate in the anechoic holes. High-pressure air should be used to clean them. If the holes remain blocked, the noise-reduction performance of the SDF fan will be affected.

Regular Repair Schedule

A minor repair should be performed every six months, and a major repair every year. Only trained professionals should manage, operate, and maintain the fan to ensure safety and prolong service life.

Storage Requirements

When the fan is not in use, it should be stored in a dry, well-ventilated location to prevent moisture damage, corrosion, and structural deterioration.

Série SDF - Ventilateur à flux axial en tunnel can achieve long-term safe operation only when operators follow proper startup steps, perform regular inspections, and carry out scheduled maintenance to ensure stable and reliable ventilation performance.
