How to Install and Debug FBDY Series Long Distance Contra-rotating Axial Flow Local Fan?
1. Read the Manual: Carefully read the operation manual before installing and operating the fan.
2. Safety Compliance: Ensure that the installation and operation of the fan comply with the mine safety regulations.
3. Clear Area Around Air Inlet: Keep the area within 10 meters of the fan air inlet free from debris to avoid obstruction and ensure proper fan operation.
4. Tighten Fastening Bolts: Ensure all fastening bolts are tight and equipped with complete spring washers. All parts must be securely connected. Use zinc-plated, anti-rust bolts.
5. Check Flameproof Parts: Inspect flameproof parts for cracks or defects that could compromise their function. New, unused motors should not be disassembled for inspection.
6. Inspect Radial Clearance: Check the radial clearance between the impeller and outer casing. Ensure uniform clearance, which should be 1.5‰ to 3.5‰ of the impeller diameter and not less than 1mm. The impeller should rotate smoothly without any jamming.
7. Confirm Impeller Rotation Direction: Ensure the impeller rotates in the direction indicated by the arrow on the fan casing.
8. Test Insulation Resistance: If the fan has been transported over long distances or stored for a long time, test the motor stator winding’s insulation resistance, which should be at least 50 MΩ. If it’s less, apply heating and de-wetting to increase it. If resistance remains low, consult our company for professional assistance. The fan can be put into normal operation if there is no abnormal noise after a 30-minute trial run.
9. Choose Correct Power Supply Cable: Select the power supply cable based on motor current and working conditions. In underground coal mines, use U-shaped fire-retardant rubber sheath cables.
10. Seal Cable Entry: Seal the cable entry to the motor junction box with a rubber sealing ring (shore hardness 45-55°). Ensure the cable diameter matches the sealing ring’s hole diameter. Adjust the sealing ring hole diameter if needed and tighten the bolts to eliminate gaps.
11. Secure Cable Connection: Place the cable core wire between the terminal’s bow washers. Ensure good contact, reliable connection, and compliance with electrical clearance requirements. The 6-terminal junction box can accommodate two different voltages by changing the connection method via a connection strap.
12. Clean Junction Box: After connecting the cable, check for debris and dust in the junction box. Ensure the connection method matches the power supply and voltage specifications before tightening the junction box cover.
13. Grounding: Firmly ground the external grounding bolt.
14. Inspect Start Equipment: Verify correct connection of start equipment and secure grounding of the metal outer casing.
15. Monitor Operation: Ensure there are no abnormal noises or vibrations during fan operation.
16. Use Proper Air Duct Diameter: Use the maximum diameter air duct allowed by the tunnel cross-section area. The air duct diameter should not be smaller than the fan outlet diameter. Each air duct section should be as long as possible with no cracks. Changes in direction should be gradual to minimize ventilation resistance.
Following these steps will help ensure the proper installation and operation of the FBDY Series Long Distance Contra-rotating Axial Flow Local Fan.
